High-Speed Penetration Test and Numerical Simulation of Ceramic-Reactive Powder Concrete Composite Target

To study the protective performance of ceramic materials against high-speed penetration projectiles, seven ceramic-reactive powder concrete (C-RPC) composite targets were designed. Using a 100/30 mm two-stage light-gas gun, tests performed at 1.4–2.0 km/s. The results showed that depth C-RPC target body first increased and then decreased as speed increased, corresponding reverse was between 1743.2 m/s 1803.9 m/s. LS-DYNA software used to perform wide-speed numerical simulation projectile’s target, focusing on analysis deformation, mass loss, passivation, projectile. Changes in parameters compared with experimental test, which together revealed changes damaging effect missile’s target. It provided damage high-speed/super-high-speed projectile, provides reference for targeted protection research.
